Giant Stalks

I was riding to the Pauline Griffith building at ANU and noticed these GIANT stalks of purple flowers. It seemed like they sprouted out of nowhere and I again, similar to the baby grass story, had no idea how long they were there for even though I pass by this area regularly! They were the most beautiful vivid purple colour (the pictures don't do them justice) and extremely tall (over 160cm? - my height). I thought I might take a picture of them because they were such an unexpected surprise.


It's always nice to see evidence of Spring creeping up.
